Kizuna
The bonds between loved ones must be flexible and strong to share and overcome the burden of any adversity. "Kizuna" is the Japanese word for such bonds, and is a source of comfort for those who endure great tragedy. The recent 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami disaster reminded me of 9/11 in how resilient and unified people can be when their hearts are in the right places.
As a tribute to those who gave aid and those who still suffer from tragedy, I created this piece to represent how without both halves, this two part fibula would not function.
