I had the pleasure of meeting Haru through the JeffSolves program, a year-long collaboration between 10XBeta and Sidney Kimmel Medical College focused on teaching medical students and design students how to rapidly design medical devices. Haru was one of two industrial design students selected. It was evident from the beginning that her acute empathy and conscientious design thinking style would benefit the cohort. Haru impressed the 10XBeta team over the course of the year—eager to go the extra mile with assignments and prototyping, and truly showing up for her team during each meeting and pitch event. Haru is a consummate team player, and an excellent researcher and designer. I recommend her without hesitation.
During Haru's time at Jefferson University she worked directly with me helping to lead a team doing research in the area of 360 Degree video for virtual reality. It was amazing to see how she put traditional UX skills to the test in an emerging field such as virtual reality and new media. Along the way she brought to light insights that helped generate new methods for documenting and prototyping content for 360 degrees. Always insightful, polite, and a pleasure to work with.
